OpenVPN

 

 

OpenVPN uses the SSL/TLS protocol suite and can offer a "military grade" encryption. It can also tunnel easily through proxy and firewalls and survives NAT when used in deception mode (using a well known port number).

 

It has been created by James Yonan and published under an OpenSource/GNU license.

 

OpenVPN allows both end of a connection to mutually authenticate through various machanisms (login/password, digital certificates, etc...) and also encrypt all content with state of the art latest cyphers availabe, making virtually impossible to decode the data stream in less than a few thousand years of supercomputer time.

 

 

OpenVPN need the installation of a small free software client on your computer to be able to function. This client is available in executable form for all major operating systems (Windows, Mac OsX, Linux). This software is not available on most smartphones at this time but should be in the near future.

 

 

Encryption is based upon SSL libraries (SSLv3/TLSv1) and offer several ways to ensure integrity of the connection.

 

 

OpenVPN can operate either with tcp or udp and can use virtually any existing port, which makes it extrememly difficult to detect and almost impossible to block.

 

These capabilities make OpenVPN a very interesting option to circumvent any block or filtering enforced by certain totalitarian countries or ISP's. OpenVPN works very well from inside China.

 

 

Our OpenVPN architecture is configured in the most extensively secured way. Digital certificates are generated and signed by us to avoid any interference and cyphers are carefully selected to ensure an encryption level realistically unbreakable.

Needless to say we also have arranged to adjust configurations to fix the SSL/TLS vulnerability leading to potential MIDM attacks.

 

Last, but not least, and unlike some older protocols, OpenVPN can restore the session on loss of connectivity automatically.
